:: ELECTRIC HOIST
1. Be accustom with the commands, procedures and warnings of hoist operation.
2. Be sure the displacement of the hook is happening in the same direction indicated in the controls.
3. Be sure the end of course limiters of the hoist works correctly.
4. Stay with your firm feet in the ground, when operate the hoist.
5. Be sure the supports of the load or other approved devices have correct size and are well rested against the hook.
6. Be sure the safety restraint of the hook, if used, is shut and supports any part of the load.
7. Be sure the load is free for movement and its itinerary is free from obstructions.
8. Handle the current carefully, verify the balance of the load, lift it some inches and verify the load before continuing.
9. Avoids the oscillation of the hook load.
10. Be sure that the people are distant from the suspended load.
11. Inform the people when approaching with a load.
12. Protect the load current from weld sparkling and other polluting or harmful materials.
13. Communicate any bad operation, uncommon acting or damage of the hoist.
14. Inspect the hoist regularly, change the damaged or worn pieces.
15. Use pieces of replacement KOCH when it repairs the hoist.
16. Use restraints protection in the hook whenever possible.
17. Lubricate the chain load, as recommended in the manual.
18. Don't lift loads above the capacity.
19. Don't use the device load limiter to measure the load.
20. Don't use damaged hoists or hoists that are not working correctly.
21. Don't use the hoist with twisted, coiled, damaged or worn chain.
22. Don't lift the load unless the chain is perfectly seated in the pulley.
23. Don't use the load chain " to tie " the load.
24. Don't lift the load if there is some tie impeding the same load in all the chain sustention.
25. Don't apply the load hook top.
26. Don't operate the hoist unless the load is well centralized below the hoist.
27. Don't diverge your attention from the hoist operation.
28. Don't operate the hoist besides the chain course limits.
29. Don't use the course limiter as habitual interrupter switches operation. They are only emergency devices.
30. Don't use the hoist to lift, support or transport people.
31. Don't lift loads on the people's head.
32. Don't leave a disregarded suspended load unless specific precautions have been taken.
33. Don't allow strait contact among two hoist or between the hoist and obstructions.
34. Don't allow the chain or the hook be used as support for weld.
35. Don't allow the chain or the hook be touched by an electric current.
36. Don't remove or turn off the warnings of the hoist.
37. Don't adjust or repair the hoist, unless you are qualified to make the maintenance of the equipment.
38. Don't try to increase the length of the chain or repair a damaged chain.
39. Don't install or operate the hoist in risk places.
:: MANUAL HOIST
The use of any HOIST can present some risks of accidents or damage, if the instructions and warnings be not strictly followed. Before using the hoist, each user must be totally accustomed with all warnings, instructions and recommendations contained in this manual.
:: WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO:
To proceed what to do and what not to do to operate the hoist with safety. Some minutes spent for this reading, can leave the operator prepared to avoid dangerous situations and to take precautions . Frequent exam and periodic inspections in the equipment, as well as a conscious observation as safety's norms, can save lives.
:: TO AVOID ACCIDENTS:
1. Read the use instructions, operation and maintenance of the hoist.
2. Stay with firm feet in the ground , when operates the hoist.
3. Certify the superior hook of the hoist is surely tied to the support.
4. Certify the load is tied with compatible device and properly fastened to the inferior hook.
5. Certify the load is free to be transported and that there won't have obstructions in the road.
6. Confirms the restraint of safety, when existent, is shut and free from any load.
7. Lift the load some centimeters and check the balance of the load before continuing the hoisting.
8. Certify that the people are distant from the suspended load.
9. Avoids to balance the load or the hook.
10. Protect the chain of load from places where there are dangers of " contamination ", except if its adapted to this condition.
11. Inform quickly to the superior in case happens bad operation, acting alteration or damages in the hoist.
12. Inspect the hoist regularly, substitute damaged or worn-out pieces and always maintain registrations of the maintenances.
13. Use only pieces recommended by the maker.
14. Don't overload the hoist besides its capacity limit.
15. Don't use a damaged hoist or one that is not operating correctly.
16. Don't use the hoist with chain damaged.
17. Don't work the hoist before verifying if the chain is adequately seated in the load pulley.
18. Don't use the chain to hoist the load.
19. Don't hoist the load unless you are sure that there is total safety in all links of the chain.
20. Only hoist the load if it's supported in correctly in the hook.
21. Don't work the hoist with other type of energy.
22. Don't allow more than one operator at the same time, for hoists that possess only one chain of working.
23. Don't use the hoist to lift, to hold or to transport people.
24. Don't lift loads on the people's head.
25. Don't leave a load suspended without attention, except when it has been taken precautions about it.
26. Don't allow the chain or the hook to enter in contact with electricity.
27. Don't allow the chain or the hook be used for cover.
28. Don't allow that the chain or the hook are touched by electric current.
29. Don't remove or turn off the warnings or indications of the hoist.
30. Don't adjust or repair the hoist unless you are qualified to execute the maintenance of hoist.
31. Don't try to increase the extension of the chain load or repair some damage in the same.
:: THE RIGHT HOIST FOR YOUR WORK
· Chooses an equipment that is qualified for the work.
· Knows the capacities of the hoist and of the weights and then combine them!
· The application, type and size of the load and the accessories to be used, shall also be taken in consideration when you select hoist.
· Remembers that the Hoists KOCH were projected to solve the material handling, not only to give safety to the operator, but also to the load.
:: INSPECT
· The whole equipment shall be visually inspected, before its use, besides making regular and periodic maintenance, in agreement with the recommendations of this manual.
· Problems should be observed and taken to the knowledge of the superior.
· You shall not operate a hoist with bad operation under any circumstance.
· Verifies the material, observing if is not damaged. Don't operate hoists with links twisted, etc...
· Hooks that are damaged, deformed or expenses shall not be used.
· Tests the brake to guarantee that there are not risks of load sliding.
:: USE THE HOIST CORRECTLY
· Be sure the hoist is prey to the higher part of the hook support.
· Be sure the hoist and the load are aligned.
· Do not use the hoist without the carcass.
· Never weld the chain to another chain part. You are overloading the hoist.
:: SERVICE OF THE OPERATOR
- Cleaning
The hoist Koch shall be properly clean, free from powder, dirt, mold, etc..., that can affect it's operation or its safety.
- Lumbrification
The current shall be properly lubricated.
- After Repairs
Operate the hoist carefully before putting back it in the normal service
